A Summer of Running
Pt. I
The summer in Hungary is a busy time and it seems like we are practicing for that this summer here in Indiana. It feels like we have been running since June began. We have so many things to share, this is going to come to you in two parts. We will start here with some of the highlights and the next letter will share more about support raising and our current needs.
Arlo started Preschool!
Arlo started attending Life Change Montessori Preschool on June 1st. It’s hard for us to believe that he is big enough, but he has done amazing. In Hungary Arlo will need to attend preschool as it’s a requirement for all kids beginning at 3, so we wanted to give him a bit of practice. It’s been really fun to hear his stories about his new friends and what he is learning although he still tells us “I like school, but I don’t like when you leave”.

Missionary Council
Daniel and I attended our first Missionary Council together as representatives of the Hungary field at the end of June. It was a week of time with the leaders from around the world in OMS, worshipping together, sharing, and learning from each other. It was an incredibly encouraging time as we look forward to working alongside everyone.

125 Celebration
Just as Missionary Council was wrapping up OMS had their big celebration of 125 years of service. It was a really fun extension of council time as partners from all around the world came to Greenwood to celebrate and share.

Daniel’s Busy Times
Making sure Missionary Council went smoothly was one of Daniel’s final tasks in the headquarters office, so he has now stepped away and is focusing on a few different things. He is taking his final class at Asbury Theological Seminary this summer and will finish with his Masters in Intercultural Studies. He is also a ley delegate for the Great Lakes Conference of the Global Methodist Church so he has been attending meetings and preparing for General Conference in South Africa at the end of August.
Family Time
We have been making the most of our time close to family, and Arlo has loved getting time with his cousins this summer. We have had a lot of playdates and meals with family on both sides. We have gotten to celebrate two first birthdays this summer for our nieces on both sides. In traveling to Chicago for one of those celebrations we also got both kids approved for Global Entry, which is a huge blessing.

Stay tuned for Pt. II tomorrow!
