What's the Status?

What's the Status?

We wanted to give a pretty direct update of where we are on funding.

We realize that a lot of our update letters have revolved around this recently; it's the nature of this season as most of our work right now is funding in order to return to Hungary. We are looking forward to being able to switch gears soon, but for now, we wanted to share the reality of where we are and where we are headed. That way we can move on to sharing more.

The way OMS sets our fundraising goals is by looking at where we will serve and assessing what we will need to live there. With that information, they set a maximum, minimum, and recommended amount for us to raise. They also look at what we need to land well in Hungary and set an amount we need to have as a balance in our account: to buy tickets, rent a flat to live in, find furniture etc.

We are very close to the minimum and should be able to be released to service soon!

Right now, we specifically need special, one-time gifts to make sure our account balance is in a good place.

If you have considered giving (or sharing with a friend who might) now would be an incredibly helpful time. And of course, if you feel like joining our monthly support team, that helps both our percent funded and balance.

Raising support is challenging and humbling

But it is also incredibly encouraging. We have gotten to travel all over Indiana, Ohio, and even Michigan and meet with such amazing and faithful people. I keep thinking of Paul writing to the Roman believers about sharing their faith together to be mutually encouraged.

11 I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— 12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith." Romans 1:11-12

As we get to share what God is calling us into in Hungary, we have also gotten to see glimpses of what He is doing here, and often, how He is moving in similar ways and it’s honestly hard to put how joyful and encouraging that is into words.

We will be going on our minimum requirement

As Field Directors to a field in transition and without leadership in country right now, we feel strongly that we need to get to Hungary sooner, rather than later. We know this amount won’t be sustainable long term, so ultimately, we will still need to raise another $1500-2000 more a month.

We will hopefully be switching gears soon as we head to Hungary but will be sharing more about support needs periodically.

All of this is to say first and foremost a huge thank you!

For supporting.

For praying.

For encouraging.

It’s the only way we can do this.

Thank you!

October Prayer Focus

October Prayer Focus

Usually, we would have our monthly prayer focus coincide with the prayer calendar. However, this month as we get near the end of our funding, we are asking you to join in to pray for the final $2000 a month to come in that we need to serve in Hungary. Whether it's 20 people at $100/month or 1 at $2000 we are praying for the last bit
