A Summer of Running Pt. II

This is the second part of our summer update, if you missed the first you can head back to our home page to read it! Below we share more about how support raising is going and some of our current prayer needs.

Support Raising Highlights

We are both working full time now on raising support for returning to Hungary and that has meant a fair amount of travel.

We had the opportunity to share at Shreve Community Church in Ohio and loved getting to connect with the congregation there. We so enjoy getting to connect with local churches and encourage them in their part of the global mission as they encourage us. It really feels like what Paul talked about "mutual encouragement" in Romans.

Daniel had the opportunity to preach at our home church, Mount Auburn. His sermon is here if you would like to watch/listen. While neither of us would say that we are "public speakers" we are really working that muscle and Daniel is honestly enjoying sharing what he has been learning.

We also got to attend Camp Sychar for the first time and really enjoyed being a part of things there. It is a camp in Ohio that has been meeting for over 150 years and it was such a joyful time of seeing generations worship together. We got to speak during bible study time and to the youth on their Missions Day and it was so fun to connect and see them excited for what God is doing around the world as well. Honestly, we were blown away; there are kids who attend the camp who sell baked goods and things throughout the year to raise money for missions, how amazing is that?!

Looking ahead

Our busy-ness doesn’t stop. We are still needing to raise the last 30% of our support to head to Hungary. That means more travel and more meetings. We have also had a few meetings with the current leaders on the field in Budapest. They will leave in September and we aren’t planning to be there until December so we are working on facilitating a smooth transition and making sure nothing gets dropped in the interim.

Prayer Needs

Endurance as we continue to be incredibly busy and are trying to savor time with family as well.

Wisdom and peace as we navigate the tension of here and there; trying to care well for both our family in this transition and the field.

For Arlo especially in this transition, he is old enough to know what’s happening and know he will miss family and friends. Please pray for his heart.

THANK YOU!

Thank you for reading, for supporting us, for caring for us, and for covering us in prayer. We can't do any of this without you. Thank you.

A Bogrács with the Bucks!

We are about 70% funded and want to humbly invite our OMS family to join us in raising our remaining $2,000/month needed to get us fully funded! We do want to be clear that this is a funding event: we know God will bring the right people along to support us AND pray with us. Our intention is NEVER to offend but to invite people who have supported

September in South Africa

September in South Africa

We hope the end of your summer is going well. September has always been one of my (Daniel’s) favorite months. Between the start of fall and usually cooler temperatures, a litany of people’s birthdays I care for, as well as for those Tolkien fans, the annual reminder of when Frodo set out on his quest, it’s a wonderful time. So far, this September is lining up to

September Prayer Focus

September Prayer Focus

For the month of September we are asking you to join us in praying for the Hungarian government. Pray that there might be leaders in the government that want to glorify God through their positions. Pray against any corruption, especially any that hinders the spread of the Gospel. Pray that ultimately each and every Hungarian finds their hope not in government or anything else of this world, but in Christ
