Spring 2020

We have to start out this out by saying, “Thank you!” The feedback to our last two updates has been wonderful, and we have enjoyed getting to hear from some of you about your favorite things. Thank you, from the bottom of both of our hearts!

But what has been going on in the mean time? I (Daniel) had a chance to work with one of our church

partners to build a greenhouse on their church property that will be used to share fresh produce with the people in the village. A time lapse on the facebook page shows how it progressed. It is a very poor village—basically consisting of one street and one public water pump, so we hope this greenhouse can be a way for the church to be a huge blessing to their community.

Amanda has been grinding away on the business plan. Both the joy and the sorrow of the effect of the pandemic is more time to fine-tune the business plan, but also that she has had to continually go over it time and time again. The good news is that, as she digs deeper into trends and demographics, it’s becoming more and more clear that a brunch spot is the right direction to create a successful business AND get to serve and love people here every single day.

We have both been helping to retool communications within the One Mission Society Europe and the Middle East Region. Amanda, especially with her background, has shared her wisdom on the best practices on how to structure a communication plan. Another fun part of what I do here is assess other training material to share with our church partners, and I recently finished a more in-depth training that reminded me of my practical theology classes at college.

So what are we looking at in the future?
God willing, in the early spring we are hoping to return to the US. We are excited to meet some little ones that were born after we moved to Hungary, and to spend some time reconnecting with family and friends.

A Bogrács with the Bucks!

We are about 70% funded and want to humbly invite our OMS family to join us in raising our remaining $2,000/month needed to get us fully funded! We do want to be clear that this is a funding event: we know God will bring the right people along to support us AND pray with us. Our intention is NEVER to offend but to invite people who have supported

September in South Africa

September in South Africa

We hope the end of your summer is going well. September has always been one of my (Daniel’s) favorite months. Between the start of fall and usually cooler temperatures, a litany of people’s birthdays I care for, as well as for those Tolkien fans, the annual reminder of when Frodo set out on his quest, it’s a wonderful time. So far, this September is lining up to

September Prayer Focus

September Prayer Focus

For the month of September we are asking you to join us in praying for the Hungarian government. Pray that there might be leaders in the government that want to glorify God through their positions. Pray against any corruption, especially any that hinders the spread of the Gospel. Pray that ultimately each and every Hungarian finds their hope not in government or anything else of this world, but in Christ
