Summer 2025- Hot and Busy
It's been an encouraging summer for us with meaningful opportunities to invest in both current and future missions work.
Internship Program
Amanda had the opportunity to run the OMS internship program this summer, and it continued to be a highlight, with rich opportunities for discipleship and learning. We both had the privilege of leading weekly Bible study sessions with our interns, focusing particularly on the concept of Sabbath and creating intentional space for peace and listening to God's voice. These discussions have opened deeper conversations about spiritual rhythms and practices. Year over year we hear how one of the blessings of the internship is the break from the grind of university.

We started the summer off with a scavenger hunt downtown for the interns
Part of running the internship meant that Amanda had the incredible opportunity to visit the field in Colombia—something we've been wanting to do for quite some time. It was powerful to witness firsthand what God has been doing there and to see His work unfold in that context.

1.) A view from the Seminary OMS founded in Medellin 2.) Taking a break from the heat during our street evangelism day in Colombia 3.)All of the interns after church Sunday in Medellin (they made it through a service completely in Spanish!)
We have both found one of our joys is discipling the interns. This year provided a unique chance to engage with deep questions that our interns have been wrestling with, including practical matters like marriage preparation for several who were recently engaged soon, as well as broader missiological questions about best practices in missions work.
Missionary Council and Engage 2033
Missionary council meetings have been focused on the exciting Engage 2033 initiative. We're taking a strategic look at how we approach our ministry methods and developing a comprehensive plan as we approach the 2000th anniversary of Christ's death and resurrection in 2033.
The initiative centers on expanding people's access to Scripture and Bible study resources, strengthening evangelism efforts, supporting church planting movements, and creating pathways for believers from the majority world to enter missions. This means sending people from places other than the US or our other signatories, but places like Hungary. It's energizing to think about how God might use this milestone anniversary to advance His kingdom globally.
These council meetings also provide the rare opportunity to reconnect with colleagues we typically only see once a year, making for meaningful fellowship and collaboration.
We're grateful for how God continues to open doors and provide opportunities for kingdom impact. Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we seek to faithfully serve in these various capacities.
