Winter 2022

We keep finding ourselves looking around a little wide-eyed. It’s 2022. We have been living and serving here in Hungary for just over 2 years now, with a majority of that time falling during a global pandemic!

As this is our first update letter for the year, we wanted to take a little bit of time to fill you in on what’s been happening here, what we are looking forward to in the near future, and share some photos.

Christmas was BUSY, but also wonderful. Amanda’s parents were able to come for a visit over Christmas. This was their first time visiting, so we were really excited to show off our home, life, and ministry here.

1. A cold but smiling picture on the Szabadsag bridge (our favorite here in Budapest!) We were so thankful to have family here for Christmas and to get to show off our home!
2. We took my parents for an adventure out to the country and enjoyed a really nice (again cold!) hike.
3. On one of their first nights here, my mom and I just happened to ride the Christmas tram, a rite of passage in Budapest at Christmas.
1. Just before Christmas we were able to help with our English Klub here in Budapest.
2. We hosted a shared Christmas gathering for our small group, where we spent some time eating and praying as most of our group traveled over Christmas. Amanda was excited to find festive sprinkles for her gingerbread cookies!
Since the start of the new year, we have jumped right back into things here, preparing for what looks like another busy month and year. Amanda has been meeting with the field leaders from each of the fields in our region to get to know them better and learn about what they are doing and how the communications team can be of service to them. She has also been meeting weekly with the two girls in Vác to continue their conversations in English.
1. It turns out our cats have strong editing opinions!
2. Sometimes the best way to get the girls to speak English is to have them share about their pets, and Amanda is never mad about that!
Daniel continues to work with the Leadership Committee here in Hungary. Specifically this month, he has been helping our new intern for English Ministries get settled and has been putting his coaching skills to work as he meets with her regularly to check-in and help her learn and grow while she is here working with us.

Daniel is also working on planning the first conference for discipleship here in Hungary, which will take place on February 19. It’s looking like it could have over 60 attendees, which is more than expected. We are excited for this time of gathering, encouragement, and learning for pastors throughout Hungary!

March Prayer Guide

March Prayer Guide

Our March prayer prompt is for our family. We will ALWAYS take your prayers, we know that your prayers are the only way we can do any of this. Specifically this month you can pray for our continued adjustment to being a family of 4. Pray for both Arlo and Felicity, that they continue to grow physically healthy and strong. But please also pray that they grow deeper in their

Prayer Calendar: February

Prayer Calendar: February

At the beginning of this year we created a prayer calendar for Hungary. January kind of got away from us (welcoming a new baby on Amanda's birthday can really do that!) so we are starting with our February focus here. The church in Hungary is growing, would you join us in praying for continued strength for the church throughout Hungary? Pray for our missionaries there as they work

Oh baby! Another update re: Inductionary update!

Oh baby! Another update re: Inductionary update!

It has been said many times and many ways, "you can't keep a good man down." However, I might adjust it slightly in this occasion..."you can't keep a good baby in!" For those who many have missed it in the various emails. Amanda was scheduled for an induction this past Wednesday. After further review the doctor's decided things were
