Old Updates: The One With Daniel's New Job at OMS HQ

Summer 2023

Finally, we are able to send you an update letter with some clarity around what is going on with us now that we are stateside! Ever since we came back to the states in February we have had numerous meetings to discern what the future holds for Amanda, Arlo, and myself and with a lot of moving parts it took some time to get it to all come together.

I (Daniel) am taking a position at OMS headquarters, working in the Global ministries department. The short explanation of the job is that I will be working with the rest of the global team as we support the missionary body and church partners across the globe. Essentially, I will be the interface between those in upper leadership at OMS headquarters and the rest of the missionary body, and I will get to make sure missionaries and fields have what they need to do their jobs well.

I would love to meet with you in person to give the longer explanation and answer any questions you might have!

My first official day is Monday, June 5!

Amanda will be working part-time at Coffeehouse Five, getting back to some of her old loves. She has already had the chance to introduce bagels and even play with some of our favorite Hungarian recipes.

Arlo has enjoyed being back in the states, between cousins, aunts/uncles, and grandparents he is having his fill of spending time with people. He is right on the cusp of starting to crawl so we are anticipating struggling to keep up with him.

Arlo has been enjoying the sights and smells of the coffeehouse

My first week back is the kickoff of missionary council, annual meetings where all of OMS comes together to check in, share, and make decisions. I appreciate your prayers for God’s presence during all of the meetings, and for me as I get my feet under myself during the busiest time of the year.

Thank you all so much for your support and understanding during this time as we have been praying to discern what we would be doing after Hungary. We are excited to finally be able to share this with you and I would love to meet you for coffee (I happen to know a pretty good local spot!) and share not only how God orchestrated everything but also more of what we are looking forward to.
