New and Old job

This is a short mid-month update, and also an email to make sure new people are connected and those who have been missing things are all squared away.
I (Daniel) finished my first two weeks in the office. Besides all of the kind words of welcome, the phrase that was repeated constantly was, “you have joined at the busiest time!” And they were right!! The Regional Leadership team had meetings during my first week, missionary council was the second week, and the OMS boards are currently meeting. Thankfully I was able to just sit in on the meetings, and not have to plan anything. All of these meetings mean that I got to see people from the field in Hungary as well as around the globe as they all met to talk about what OMS has been up to this past year and where they are headed in the future.

The highlight was getting to see the people behind the emails I have seen over the years.
The low point was/is I still get a little lost walking around the office.

Amanda is settling into her role part-time at Coffeehouse Five and spending time with Arlo at home. She is excited to get to be back in the kitchen, creating new items for the coffeehouse so that they can continue their ministry of providing free counseling. She has also been having fun watching Arlo learn and grow so many new things! Most recently he is on the verge of crawling.

Overall, I’m thankful God has put me here. It has been cool to see how he has orchestrated things to get Amanda, Arlo, and I to this particular place and time. I’m also excited to jump into more things after all of the meetings finish up.
