Finally, the review of our trip to Hungary! First off, God's goodness was evident everywhere: in travel, visiting with friends, sharing meals, and experiencing His faithfulness in unexpected ways.
First and foremost, because it’s us; the food was incredible! We enjoyed traditional Hungarian dishes and were delighted by Hungarian versions of foods we love from home (burritos, pizza, burgers).
One unexpected joy happened

One Step at a Time...
Written by: Amanda
I don't think it will come as a surprise to any of you that I'm a planner. I LOVE a good list, clear instructions, and straight path forward.
So when I started at US headquarters for OMS and took over the summer internship program that has been running for years I was excited. You see, thanks to those that were in charge before

Walking the Path of Discipleship
In another blast from the past, this article from our time in Hungary describes how we engaged in disciple-making through the use of Banding Together. While Amanda and I are not in Hungary anymore we still believe in the mission of disciple-making and the 8 approaches laid out in the article.
This is the kind of stuff that gets both of us excited about what God is doing, we hope

Missionary Pedestals
Amanda focuses this blog post on the danger of pedestals and how everyone is called into ministry not just those that are called cross-culturally.
We felt like it was worth re-sharing as we think about what we are ALL called to right here and now.

Musings on Music and the Kingdom
I've always loved music. The awkward photo above is a testament to my official title of "band geek" in high school. Back then it felt like my whole life was music (and to be fair, with 9am-9pm practices, it kind of was). Even outside of band I would spend most of my free time listening to music and making cheesy mixed CDs for my friends and

Grieving "home"
We have admitted many times over the past 2 years that we have not done a great job of sharing our story with you, or why we returned to the United States from Hungary. And I think as we approach the 2 year mark in February I'm finally able to explain and admit that a large part of that is because we were/are grieving.
We have finally

The Missing Piece
With Amanda working at HQ, we thought it would be fun to share how Amanda started in Missions. She gives great insights into looking at your gifts and talents and seeing how God prepares you for His roles.

OMS and reaching the Unreached
Chris Williams, our Executive Director, passionately shares how One Mission Society (OMS) is actively engaging with unreached people groups across the globe. This brief segment offers a glimpse into the inspiring talk he delivered this summer, which draws heavily from the foundational work I, Daniel, conducted last spring. Although not explicitly mentioned, if you take a closer look at the engagement strategies discussed around the 2:20 mark, you'

What it Takes to Plan a Camp
In honor of English Camps finishing up in Hungary and to start out a series of resharing some of our old blogs and update letters. We are sharing an old post about one of Daniel's favorite years of English Camp. If anything, the photo of Daniel covered in whipped cream is worth sharing again.

Missionary Council
Summer 2024 Update Letter
The theme for this missionary council was "Cornerstone."
This concept highlighted Christ as our cornerstone and acknowledged that we are living stones being built and shaped by God, our master builder. It was a fantastic time of being molded through teaching, which built us up internally and provided us with skills to use externally. However, two of my favorite moments were hearing leaders from
